We divide the indicators for measuring the grinding process of industrial ball mill into two categories: quantity indicators and quality indicators.
The processing capacity of ball mill grinding machine is actually the hourly processing capacity of the machine, that is, the amount of ore processed by a grinding machine per hour under a certain feed size and product size. The processing capacity of any equipment should be a rigid indicator for measuring the quality of the equipment, grinding mill design. We can also measure the quality of the grinding process of ore ball mill through the processing capacity. But the premise is to clarify the feed size and discharge size, and also distinguish whether it is in the same dressing plant. If in the same dressing plant, several grinding machines with the same specifications have the same feed size and product size, the working quality of each grinding machine can be directly judged by the size of the processing capacity. However, in different dressing plants, the specifications of grinding machines may be different, and the feed size and product size may not be the same. It is difficult to judge the working quality of grinding machines solely based on the size of processing capacity.

This indicator eliminates the influence of the volume of ore ball mill and is more scientific, but it still has the defects of the previous indicators, and it is necessary to specify the feed size and product size.

This indicator eliminates the influence of the volume of grinding machine and feed size and product size. The working effect of grinding machine is evaluated by the tonnage of -200 mesh generated per cubic meter of grinding machine per hour. This index can scientifically reflect the working quality of different grinding machines under different feed size and product size, and is also called unit volume productivity.
Grinding efficiency represents the high or low efficiency of energy use.
Grinding technology efficiency can evaluate the quality of the grinding process from a technical perspective. The higher the grinding technology efficiency, the better the grinding process. The lower the grinding technology efficiency of ore ball mill, the worse the grinding process.
Consumption of grinding steel balls: in the grinding process, about 40% of the operating cost is consumed on steel consumption, of which the vast majority is the consumption of steel balls. Therefore, the consumption of steel balls is one of the important indicators to evaluate the performance of the dressing plant.
By measuring the quality of ore ball mill process through both quantity and quality indicators, more accurate and fair suggestions can be given. The proper selection of ball mill not only affects the grinding process, but also has an impact on the subsequent dressing process. Therefore, when selecting the model of ball mill, it is necessary to consider multiple factors comprehensively, and the quality of the grinding process is only one of them.
