Mining is more than digging ore out of the ground. Between the mine face and the final metal product, raw material must be crushed, ground, transported and separated — and every step depends on specialized heavy equipment. Crushing reduces run-of-mine ore from boulders to manageable sizes. Jaw crushers and cone crushers apply compressive force between two surfaces, breaking rock into smaller fragments. The crushed product is then screened and fed to the next stage. Crushing is the first and most energy-intensive step in the processing chain, and its efficiency directly affects everything downstream.

Grinding further reduces crushed ore to fine powder, liberating valuable minerals from waste rock. Ball mills and rod mills rotate a cylindrical shell filled with steel balls or rods; as the shell turns, the grinding media tumble and impact the ore. The result is a fine slurry ready for separation. Grinding typically consumes the largest share of a plant's energy, so mill design and operation are critical to overall cost.

Hoisting machinery moves ore, waste and personnel between underground workings and the surface. Mine hoists, skip systems and headframes work together to lift heavy loads safely and continuously. Reliable hoisting is essential not only for production but for the safety of everyone underground.

Beneficiation separates valuable minerals from gangue. Flotation cells use air bubbles and chemical reagents to collect target minerals; magnetic separators pull out ferrous materials; gravity concentrators exploit differences in density. Together, these machines upgrade ore into a concentrate that can be economically smelted or refined.
